Just went out to put the mail in the mailbox and saw that the cornflowers are out, so I snapped a few pics. Come to find out that what I was always told was a cornflower is more properly called chicory.

I've always loved the delicate blue of these flowers. For some reason what others call weeds are the plants I like best. Each blossom was attended by at least one of the little bugs shown, gathering nectar I suppose. They are tiny, much smaller than they look from this picture. I'm guessing they're some sort of stingless wasp.

Blue sailors. I love 'em (the flower that is). I've harvested the root to roast to try the famous coffee substitute. Interesting but not addictive.
